Casey Land management

The way the O'Brien uses his land won't directly help with my group's project, prairie restoration, but his respect for the land is something that is to be admired and kept in mind as the Casey Land is being used. O'Brien always tries to be as "low-impact" as possible to the land. Before the buffalo he always rotated the section of land he let his cattle live on so that they would not kill the grass and plant life. Once he makes the switch to buffalo this is no longer necessary as the buffalo naturally wander across the land and never focus on a certain spot to feed from. By restoring the prairie at the Casey property at all times we must remember to impact the land no more than is necessary to finish the job.
